4-H Chick Chain – 2024

The 4-H Chick Chain is hands-on learning project for youth to learn responsibility through animal agriculture. Each youth is given 10 pullets (baby girl chickens) and is tasked with raising them for approximately 6 months at which point they should be laying eggs. The youth then select 3 of those chickens for the 4-H Chick Chain Show-N-Sale that will be exhibited and auctioned. Proceeds go toward buying pullets for the next year’s program and youth keep the remaining 7 chickens for themselves.
