The 4-H Chick Chain is a hands-on learning project for youth to learn responsibility through animal agriculture. Each youth is given 10 pullets (baby girl chickens) and is tasked with raising them for approximately six months at which point they should be laying eggs. The youth then select three of those chickens for the 4-H Chick Chain Show-N-Sale that will be exhibited and auctioned. Proceeds go toward buying pullets for the next year’s program and youth keep the remaining seven chickens for themselves. The deposit is $35. The deposit is refunded after the completion of all requirements of the project.

Chick chain show and sale will be October 5, 2024 at the courthouse lawn in Jasper,TN. The show will start at 9AM and the sale will start at 9:30AM.
