Beef Quality Assurance

Beef Quality Assurance Banner

Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is national program that provides guidelines and teaches beef producers the best practices for managing their cow herd. BQA assures that producers put out the best product possible so that consumers can take pride in what they purchase, and also have trust and confidence in the entire beef industry. In Tennessee, a producer must be BQA certified to be eligible for cost share programs through the Tennessee Agriculture Enhancement Program.

UT Extension Marion County includes BQA certifications as part of their annual Master Beef Producer Program. Classes are also available online for those that wish to certify/recertify outside the scope of the Master Beef Producer Program through the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association’s website. Pricing, information, and more can be found in their website “shop” linked to the right under “BQA Certification/Recertification”.
