4-H Baking Contest

February is the 4-H Baking contest!

Baking is easy so pull out your flour and rolling pin and get to it!
With proper techniques and the right recipe, you can have a first rate product!
5th – 12th graders participate in the Baking Contest while 4th graders create a cornbread recipe.

What you may bake:

  • 5th graders: Cornmeal Muffins (x3)                   
  • 6th graders: Biscuits (x3)
  • 7th graders: Banana Bread (1 small loaf)
  • 8th graders: Chocolate Chip Cookies (x3)
  • 9th-12th graders: yeast bread (1 small loaf)

Suggestions to follow:

  • Bake items yourself.
  • Do NOT use mixes. Make it from scratch.
  • Wash your hands before beginning.
  • Read all instructions carefully.
  • Bring your entries on a paper or plastic plate, wrapped up. 

First place winners in local clubs will advance to the County competition held in early April. More info Below...
