Tennessee Forage and Grassland Council Meeting
The 26th Annual Tennessee Forage and Grassland Council will be held on November 6, 2009 at the Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, TN. Dr. Dennis Hancock, State Forage Specialist at the University of Georgia, will be the featured speaker for this year’s meeting. at your November Club meeting. Scoring will be based on
appearance, pronunciation, articulation, grammar, projection
to the audience, and the introduction and conclusion to the

Fairground Main Stage
Girls Age Divisions (Must be age specified on date of contest)
Toddler Miss 2-3 years Junior Miss 9-10 years
Little Miss 4-5 years PreTeen Miss 11-12 years
Petite Miss 6-7-8 years Teen Miss 13-14-15 years
Queen, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up will receive prizes
All participants will receive a certificate of participation
$25 entry fee for all age divisions

Marion County Fair Youth Pet Show
The Marion County Fair Youth Pet Show will be on Saturday September 12, 2009 at 5 pm at the Marion County Fairgrounds. There will be eight divisions: large dogs, small dogs, cats, rabbits, other mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians, and fish. Cash prizes will be awarded in each division: 1st place - $15.00 and 2nd place - $10.00. All animals must be properly vaccinated. All pets must be on a leash, in a cage, or otherwise contained/restrained. The show is open to all Marion County Youth in the 12th grade and younger. 4-H Poultry Show and Sale
The 4-H Poultry Show and Sale will be on Saturday September 12, 2009 at 3 pm at the Livestock Tent at the Marion County Fairgrounds. The show is open to 4-H Chick Chain participants. Chick Chain participants need to be at the tent at least 30 minutes prior to the show. Prospective buyers are encouraged to attend. Marion 4-H Archery Shoot
You are invited to compete in the 1st Annual Marion County 4-H Archery Shoot. The event will be held on Saturday, September 12th at the Marion County Fairgrounds. Registration will begin at 10 AM and the shoot will start at 10:30 AM. There is an entry fee of $4 per contestant. This event is open to all 4-Hers.
There are two divisions (NASP-Genesis™ and Open) for each level.
Junior level – 5th to 8th grade
Senior level – 9th to 12th grade
There will also be 3-D target competition.

Master Meat Goat Producer Program in November
The Marion Master Meat Goat Producer Program will be held on November 2, 7, 9, and 16. This will be a program that benefits both goat and sheep producers. (10/27/2009) |
